About the Eagle 5000 Turkey Trot
The whole race takes place on a high school track, which makes this a different kind of Thanksgiving trot. Instead of roads and intersections, you get lanes and a measured oval. Runners are grouped into heats by predicted finishing time, so you race people at roughly your level. The event benefits the cross country and track programs at the school that hosts it.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the high school, with another window on race morning. Parking is on site but limited, so arriving with time to spare is worth it.
