About the Dog Days of Summer 5k & 1-Mile Run

The course runs along historic River Road, and the organizers note there is plenty of shade, which matters in a late-summer morning in this part of the state. The race benefits the local high school cross country program, so the energy around the start has a team-behind-it feel rather than a corporate event one.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the high school, near the science building on the street-facing side. The start area also has pickup available on race morning. After the race, drinks and food are set up in a pavilion near the finish line, available while supplies last.
