About the Dillon's Place 5k

The race starts outside a software company's building on Clemens Road, which puts you in a suburban office-park setting. The course is described as a run-walk, so the terrain is accessible and the crowd at the start tends to be a mix of people there for different reasons, from the military-tribute Half Murph to the shorter road course. It is a charity-oriented morning with a purposeful feel.

Packet pickup runs the morning before the race at a roofing company on Bassett Road, a few miles from the start. Race-morning registration closes before the gun goes off, so arriving early matters. The event also offers a virtual option, with bibs mailed out to remote participants.

Common Questions About the Dillon's Place 5k

Will I finish last at the Dillon's Place 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 34:46, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:19:14, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Dillon's Place 5k a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (132 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Dillon's Place 5k?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:05 while the median finisher took 34:46. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
