The course runs through Armory Park in downtown Tucson, so the surroundings are urban and walkable, with the feel of a neighborhood race tied to a bigger street festival. St. Patrick's Day theming runs through the whole morning, including a costume contest, which means the crowd tends to be dressed up and good-natured rather than purely focused on time.
