About the Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Corpus Christi
The course is still being finalized at Bayside Park, but the race is built around the Dia de los Muertos tradition, and that shapes the whole morning. Runners are encouraged to show up in costume, and a judging panel picks a winner before the start. The route passes through parkland with lakes and tree cover, and the terrain is gentle enough to take in the surroundings.
At the finish, there is a rally tent with live music and Mexican food and drinks. A DJ calls out finishers by name, and awards are handed out on the spot. The post-race setup has real energy to it, more like a street celebration than a typical finish-line scene.
