About the Dave's Run For ALS
This race is named for a local runner and business owner who was diagnosed with ALS, and a portion of what it raises goes toward ALS research through a foundation set up in his memory. The course offers a shorter distance alongside a longer one, so people tend to show up across a wide range of paces and ages, including a kids' mile that pulls in the whole family.
Post-race there are snacks and Eegees, a Tucson frozen drink institution, which makes the finish area feel like an actual gathering rather than just a turnaround point. There is also a team prize for the largest group, so some people come with a crew.
