The course runs through historic downtown Beaufort, starting and finishing at a park on Front Street. It is an open, accessible route along streets that get closed for the morning, so there is no traffic to deal with. The race benefits a local nonprofit that runs an exercise program specifically for cancer survivors, and that mission is visible in the crowd.

Packet pickup happens at the Cancer Rehab Center in Morehead City in the days before the race, during business hours, with a shorter window on race morning at the park itself.
