About the Color Me LexCath DanceBlue 5K & 1Mile Fun Walk
The course runs through the Kentucky Horse Park, a working equestrian facility with open grounds and wide paths. Both the run and the fun walk include color splashes along the route, so expect to finish a different shade than you started. Awards go to top finishers in the timed event, and there is food and drink at the finish.
The race is tied to a student-led fundraising effort for a pediatric oncology clinic, so the atmosphere around the start reflects that. Chip timing covers the run, while the walk is untimed, and the start is at the Alltech Arena on the Horse Park grounds, which gives plenty of open space around the staging area.
