About the CHSAA The Charge: on Hunger
The course runs on and around a high school campus, with the finish on the track. In the final stretch, runners appear on a jumbotron, so families can watch from the stands. The route is smooth and mostly flat, and strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on the shorter distance.
Food trucks and local vendors set up after the race, so there is reason to stay a while. The event benefits a backpack food assistance program for local families, which gives the morning a clear sense of purpose beyond the race itself.
