About the Chris Hixon Memorial Run/Walk
The course runs along the Hollywood Beach boardwalk, a flat stretch beside the ocean. It is a road race, but the boardwalk setting gives it a different feel from a typical street course, with the water on one side and the beach town backdrop on the other. The race honors an athletic director who lost his life shielding students, and that weight is present in the crowd.
The race benefits a scholarship fund supporting student-athletes at the schools where Chris Hixon worked. The start is at the boardwalk itself, so sorting out beach parking before race morning is worth doing early.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
