About the 2026 Child Advocates 5k and 1k Superhero Run

The course runs at CITYCENTRE Houston, a mixed-use development with wide pedestrian paths and a polished urban feel underfoot. Most of the crowd comes in costume, capes included, and the atmosphere around the start and finish reflects that. A costume raffle follows the racing, which keeps people around after they cross the line.

A post-race awards ceremony is part of the morning, so there is reason to stay once you finish. The event benefits Child Advocates, Houston's court-appointed advocacy program for children in foster care, and that mission tends to draw a crowd that is there for more than just the run.
