The course runs through Riverfront Park, right along the water in Salem. It reads as a fast route, the kind that draws people chasing a personal best rather than just out for a stroll. The surroundings are open and scenic, and the park setting keeps the atmosphere easy without feeling remote.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at a winery tasting room in the hills outside town, which is worth knowing because the morning option at the park closes early and the carousel lot fills quickly. After the race, Willamette Valley Vineyards pours wine on site, local food trucks set up nearby, and a live music stage keeps things going through the awards.
