The course winds through a shopping center and into the surrounding neighborhoods, so you get a mix of parking lots, sidewalks, and residential streets. It is a USATF-certified route, which means the distance is measured and marked properly. The race benefits a local teen mentoring organization, and there is an awards ceremony with trophies and age-group recognition after the finish.
