About the Celebrate Life Survivors 5K Walk/Run - Gulf Coast, TX

The course runs on the University of Houston-Clear Lake campus, starting with a brief celebratory lap for survivors before the main race begins. The route is open to runners and walkers, and the crowd reflects the mission: people in treatment, survivors, families, and friends all on the same course together.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at a Texas Oncology clinic in Webster. Race morning check-in opens before the start, and the event wraps up with an awards presentation. There are also informal costume contests, so some participants show up in boas, themed outfits, or decorated wheelchairs and strollers.

Will I finish last at the Celebrate Life Survivors 5K Walk/Run - Gulf Coast, TX?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 55:36, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:22:40, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Celebrate Life Survivors 5K Walk/Run - Gulf Coast, TX a good first 5K?

How competitive is the Celebrate Life Survivors 5K Walk/Run - Gulf Coast, TX?
