About the 14th Annual Captain James R. Minicozzi Memorial Race
The course runs through downtown Scranton during La Festa Italiana, so the street festival is happening around you as you race. A lead vehicle paces the front of the field. There is a water station mid-course, near a bar on North Washington Avenue. Age group awards are handed out at the main bandstand shortly after the field finishes.
The race honors a local captain and raises money for a children's Christmas party and high school scholarships at his alma mater. An Armed Service Award goes to the top active or veteran finisher. Registration opens race morning, and fruit and water are available at the registration table while you wait.
