About the Cancer League of Colorado Race 4 Research

Washington Park is the setting, and it is one of Denver's most familiar running spots. The course winds through the park, mostly flat, with tree-lined paths and the lake nearby. The Miracle Mile section of the route is lined with tribute posters honoring people touched by cancer, which gives the middle of the race a quiet, personal weight that most races do not have.

Packet pickup and bib collection happen at the registration desk on race morning, so arriving early helps. There is day-of registration available at the park as well, though online registration beforehand is preferred.

Common Questions About the Cancer League of Colorado Race 4 Research

Will I finish last at the Cancer League of Colorado Race 4 Research?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 44:26, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:14:57, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Cancer League of Colorado Race 4 Research a good first 5K?

A field of 256 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Cancer League of Colorado Race 4 Research?

The 5K winner ran 16:26 while the median finisher took 44:26. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.

Where can I train for the Cancer League of Colorado Race 4 Research?

Join a local run club. Rocky Mountain Road Runners, Colorado Harriers, Revolution Running and others in Denver welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
