About the CAN the Bird 5K Turkey Trot
The course starts and finishes in a Walmart parking lot off Kingstowne Boulevard and loops through the Kingstowne neighborhood around a scenic lake. The route is accessible enough that runners bring strollers and dogs, and the Thanksgiving morning timing means the field tends to be a mix of regulars and people who only race once a year.
Packet pickup runs across several evenings in the days before the race at a nearby funeral chapel, with race-morning pickup available at the Walmart start area. The race collects nonperishable food donations for a local organization, so plan to bring a canned item when you show up.

The CAN the Bird 5K Turkey Trot has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 18, 2026.
