About the Camellia Crossing: Acadiana's Gleaux Run

This is a nighttime race down Camellia Boulevard, run in glow gear after dark. The course closes the road for a fun run and then a longer run, both starting from River Ranch Town Square. It benefits Miles Perret Cancer Services, so the crowd tends to be people who feel that connection personally, not just runners out for a weeknight jog.

Packet pickup is available at the Miles Perret Cancer Services office on the days leading up to the race, with a final window at Town Square once the event village opens. The after-party kicks off in Town Square not long after the last runners finish, with food and drinks included in registration.

Common Questions About the Camellia Crossing: Acadiana's Gleaux Run

Will I finish last at the Camellia Crossing: Acadiana's Gleaux Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:00, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:34, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Camellia Crossing: Acadiana's Gleaux Run a good first 5K?

With 2,942 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Camellia Crossing: Acadiana's Gleaux Run?

The 5K winner ran 15:13 while the median finisher took 36:00. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
