The course winds through the Gesu neighborhood, keeping things close to the school grounds. It is a local fundraiser for athletic programs there, so the crowd at the start and finish is mostly people who know the place well.
The after party runs in the school parking lot and gymnasium, with a food truck, snacks, beer, a DJ, games, and college football on a big screen. The whole thing has the feel of a neighborhood block party that happens to have a race attached to it.
