The course runs through Tioga State Forest on a mix of old logging grades, snowmobile trails, dirt roads, and narrow single-track. There are stream crossings and a few steep pitches along the way. It is genuinely varied terrain, the kind that rewards hiking poles or at least some respect for the descents.
