About the 11th Annual Boyertown Turkey Trot

The race starts and finishes at Boyertown Community Park on Thanksgiving morning. It is a community tradition at this point, with families coming out together and the field drawing a wide range of paces. Age group awards go out for the longer distance, and there are giveaways for those who registered ahead of time.

Packet pickup runs the evening before the race at a local church, where you can also collect bibs for friends if they registered separately. Picking up early means you can skip check-in on race morning and head straight to the start.

Common Questions About the 11th Annual Boyertown Turkey Trot

Will I finish last at the 11th Annual Boyertown Turkey Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:24, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:15:04, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 11th Annual Boyertown Turkey Trot a good first 5K?

A field of 710 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 11th Annual Boyertown Turkey Trot?

The 5K winner ran 16:15 while the median finisher took 32:24. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
