About the Blueberry Stomp

The Blueberry Stomp runs through Plymouth on Labor Day, sharing the road with the Blueberry Festival's parade route. The shorter distance is a tree-lined out-and-back through residential streets, while the longer option pushes out into the countryside where rolling hills make themselves known. Both start at Centennial Park on Michigan Street, with a large festival crowd already gathered along the course.

Packet pickup happens the afternoon before at the Road Runner Pavilion inside Centennial Park, and again on race morning before the start. Parking around the park costs a small fee. The organizers warn that race-morning lines get long, so picking up the afternoon before saves time.

Common Questions About the Blueberry Stomp

Will I finish last at the Blueberry Stomp?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 30:43, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:00:27, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Blueberry Stomp a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 464 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Blueberry Stomp?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 15:16 while the median finisher took 30:43. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
