About the Bloom & Zoom
The course runs through WakeMed Soccer Park on a cross country layout, with dirt, grass, and natural trails underfoot. It is not a road race, and the surface varies with whatever the weather has been doing in the days before. Expect an earthy, uneven feel rather than pavement, which suits the setting well.
The race benefits local nonprofits, with several charitable organizations participating each year. Several distance options are available, from a short fun run up to the longest course, so the morning draws a wide range of runners. The start area is at the soccer park, and the course closes before midmorning.
