About the Cary Academy 5k
The course runs through a corporate campus and returns to a track for the finish. The surroundings are open and well-maintained, the kind of grounds that make for easy running underfoot. Both the start and the finish land on the track, so there is a clear, defined end point rather than a vague finish chute.
Check-in is at the field house before the start. There is a warm-up session on the track in the final minutes before the gun. Post-race, spectators have a raffle and a kids donut run to keep things going after the race wraps up.
