About the Blackbeard's Revenge 100 Ultra & Relay
The course runs point-to-point down the Outer Banks on fully paved coastal road, ocean on one side and sound on the other. The only real elevation comes from a few bridges. What gets to you instead is the road stretching flat and endless ahead, sandy gusting wind, and weather that can swing hard in either direction. Runners share the road with vehicles, though paths run alongside much of the route.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at a hotel in Nags Head, with race-morning pickup available at the start lines as well. Aid stations are well stocked throughout, with fruit, salty foods, gels, and hydration mix, and hot broth appears later in the race. The finish line is at a tiki bar in Hatteras.
