About the Birds of a Feather Trail Trot

The race is held at Briar Chapel, a forested community west of downtown Chapel Hill with an extensive trail network. The shorter course sticks mostly to pavement, grass, and smooth trails with very little technical terrain. The longer options push into rooted, rocky double-track and flowing single-track with rolling climbs throughout. Each distance starts on open pavement before heading into the woods.

Everything stages at Great Meadow Park, which has a pavilion and an open lawn. Packet pickup is available the evening before at the pavilion, or on race morning. After the run, there is pie at the finish, along with music, an awards ceremony, and a kids race on the grounds.
