About the Bigfoot Half Marathon

The half marathon starts at an events complex on the edge of town and winds down into downtown Estes Park, finishing in Bond Park right in the middle of the Bigfoot Days Festival. There is live music, vendors, and Bigfoot-themed entertainment all around the finish area, so you cross the line into an actual street fair rather than a quiet parking lot.

Packet pickup for the half is the evening before at a local outdoor shop, with a second window on race morning at the events complex. The course sits at high altitude, so if you are coming from lower elevation, give yourself a day to settle in. The race is cupless, so bring something to drink from or pick one up at check-in.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Bigfoot Half Marathon

Will I finish last at the Bigfoot Half Marathon?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 35:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:10, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Bigfoot Half Marathon a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 279 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Bigfoot Half Marathon?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:07 while the median finisher took 35:16. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
