The course follows a paved trail along the waterfront, out and back. It is flat the whole way, with water alongside and the path stretching ahead until you reach your turnaround. The longer distance simply continues past where the shorter one turns around. Age group awards are handed out while the race is still going, so there is activity at the finish area even after you cross.
