About the Florida Run @ Lake Louisa State Park

Lake Louisa State Park sits outside Clermont with terrain that is rare for this part of the state. The course moves through flowing singletrack, open grass, packed dirt, and patches of sugar sand, with genuine rolling hills breaking up the route. Scenic views of the lake appear between stretches of quiet forest, and the varied surface keeps attention throughout.

Packet pickup runs the two evenings before the race at a training center and then at the park itself, with a brief window on race morning as well. Parking at the park requires a day pass purchased online ahead of arrival, so building extra time into your morning is worth it. Post-race refreshments are out at the finish.

Common Questions About the The Florida Run @ Lake Louisa State Park

Will I finish last at the Florida Run @ Lake Louisa State Park?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:26:47, and the last recorded finisher came in around 4:17:38, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Florida Run @ Lake Louisa State Park a good first 13.1 Miles?

It is a small race (159 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Florida Run @ Lake Louisa State Park?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:29:23 while the median finisher took 2:26:47. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
