About the BATV Spooky 5k Run/Walk
The course starts and ends at a middle school, with Halloween decorations and music set up around the venue. Costumes are encouraged, and plenty of participants show up in them. The race benefits Billerica Access Television, the local nonprofit community media center, so the entry fee goes toward keeping that resource running.
The school grounds give the start area room to spread out. Post-race, the atmosphere stays in the spirit of the season, with the decorated finish area doubling as the gathering spot for the community around it.
