About the Bahia Shrine 5K Camel Walk/Run
The course is flat and runs at Northwest Recreation Complex, a park with a lake. The race has a loose, unhurried atmosphere built around the Bahia Shrine's parade units, which provide entertainment along the way. A live camel named Sir Gus, Jr. is usually on hand for photos between the racing and the walking.
Packet pickup is offered the evening before at the park pavilion near the lake, with a second window on race morning before the start. Both pickups happen on site, so there is no separate trip across town.
