About the Ayer Fire Department Thanksgiving Day 5K
The course heads down Main Street and winds through residential neighborhoods, so spectators can post up close to home and catch runners more than once. The terrain is mostly flat with a few short hills scattered through the route. A water station is out on the course, and marshals are positioned throughout to keep everyone on track.
Packet pickup runs on the two evenings before the race at the Ayer Fire Department, which also serves as the race-morning check-in spot. Check-in closes shortly before the start, so there is a tight window if you wait until race day. The awards ceremony follows not long after the finish.

The Ayer Fire Department Thanksgiving Day 5K has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 18, 2026.
