About the APU Bog & Forest Run
The course runs through a network of trails and bogs on the Alaska Pacific University campus, so expect real mud and wet ground underfoot. The terrain is honest: uneven, rooted, and boggy in stretches. Elite Nordic skiers and Olympians from the APU Nordic Ski Center lead the run, which gives the whole thing a distinctly athletic but unpretentious character.
The event is free to enter, though donations help the Nordic program cover its costs for putting it on. There is no formal packet pickup or registration process to worry about, which keeps the morning simple.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The APU Bog & Forest Run has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
