About the Annual Running of the Lights
The route winds through a residential neighborhood where residents decorate their homes with holiday lights and collect donations for local charities. Volunteers stand along the way to keep runners on course, and the traffic signs have flashing lights attached so they are easy to spot in the dark. Strollers are welcome, but dogs are not.
Check-in is at an elementary school nearby, where participants pick up a safety light to wear on the route. A headlamp or similar light source is worth bringing, since the road has its share of potholes. The run loops back to the start, so crossing back to the parking area is straightforward.
