About the Annual Fun Run for Charities

The race starts on Broadway Ave and loops out from Lion's Park, with several distance options so runners and walkers can pick their own challenge. The course runs through Red Lodge, and the whole event is built around fundraising, with charity booths open in the park before the start. Costume competition adds a different kind of energy to the morning.

Packet pickup runs over the two days before the race at the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation on S Hauser Ave, with race-morning pickup available as well. Bibs and registration are handled out of Lion's Park on race day.

Common Questions About the Annual Fun Run for Charities

Will I finish last at the Annual Fun Run for Charities?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 40:50, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:31, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Annual Fun Run for Charities a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 201 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Annual Fun Run for Charities?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:07 while the median finisher took 40:50. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
