About the Albert Rivera Menudo Run
The course runs through Whittier Narrows Legg Lake Park, a green stretch of open parkland that keeps things comfortable underfoot. The route is straightforward and the surroundings are pleasant, with the lake nearby and enough shade and open sky to make an early morning bearable. Several distance options mean people show up to run different races, with a kids' option pulling in a lot of families.
The post-race spread is the real draw here: menudo is served at the finish, and there is beer for those of age. Bring your ID. Age-group awards go deep across the field, and teams can compete for trophies. It is a long-running neighborhood tradition with a very specific and satisfying payoff waiting at the end.
