About the AIA Cincinnati - 5.13k
This race is built around a point it wants to make. The route runs through Cincinnati's urban fabric as a kind of argument that well-designed streets and public spaces invite people outside. The course is a chance to look at the built environment around you, not just run through it on autopilot.
A portion of what runners pay goes toward a grant program that funds projects improving the urban environment in the region, so the entry fee does something beyond covering race-day costs. The organizing group brings together architects, designers, and residents, which gives the start line a different mix than a typical road race.
