About the AFNA Walk & Run - SF Bay Area
The course runs around Almaden Lake and then out along the creek trails that border the park, mixing paved bike path with softer trail surface. It is mostly flat, with the lake visible for much of the route and the creek corridor shading the out-and-back sections. The start and finish are in the same spot, so there is no shuttling.
The race is organized by a nonprofit that supports cultural and educational ties between the Assam region of India and North America, and the post-race gathering at the finish reflects that. There is a small celebration there when runners come in.
