About the 5K RUN FOR THE DONUT
The course runs out and back through Bent Tree Woodlands II, a wooded residential neighborhood, with a loop worked into the route. The trees give it some shade, and the terrain is smooth the whole way. Costumes are encouraged, and plenty of people show up in them. There is a water stop about halfway out.
Bib pickup runs the evening before at New Balance of Sarasota on Stickney Point Road, near the Siesta Key bridge. Race-morning pickup is available at the school entrance for a window before the start. Parking and indoor restrooms are across the street at Sarasota Baptist Church. After the race, coffee, donuts, and other breakfast snacks are set out near the finish.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The 5K RUN FOR THE DONUT has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
