About the 50th YMCA TURKEY TROT

The course starts at the intersection of Montana and Ange, heads out along Montana, and comes back the same way. The longer option swings through a residential stretch, turning up Grant before looping back; the shorter out-and-back stays on Montana. Both routes are flat and return to the same spot where you started.

Packet pickup runs at a pair of YMCA locations in the days before the race, with several pickup windows across that stretch. Items must be collected in person; nothing is mailed out. Day-of registration is available on site if space remains.

Common Questions About the 50th YMCA TURKEY TROT

Will I finish last at the 50th YMCA TURKEY TROT?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:56, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:20:28, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 50th YMCA TURKEY TROT a good first 5K?

With 1,954 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 50th YMCA TURKEY TROT?

The 5K winner ran 15:25 while the median finisher took 36:56. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
