Who It Suits

This club works well if you are a beginner who wants company and a predictable weekly structure, or an experienced runner who wants social miles without committing to a team or a training plan. If you need a highly coached, structured training program, they do not describe themselves that way, though they do mention occasional tempo and hill sprint workouts.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Weekday morning runs cover 2 to 7 miles on urban streets, sidewalks, and waterfront paths through areas like Penn's Landing, Queen Village, and Penn Treaty Park. Saturday mornings push longer, anywhere from 3 to 10-plus miles, with an 8:00 AM start.

Wednesday evenings are a different animal: the 6:30 PM meetup at 6th and Race is built around a Ben Franklin Bridge run. The group includes fast runners, middle-of-the-pack runners, and people who are just there to move, and they describe themselves as all-paces, so you are not going to find a single group charging off at one speed.

Distance2-7 miles on weekday mornings, 3-10+ miles on Saturdays
PaceAll paces welcome; group includes fast, middle-of-the-pack, and fun runners; occasional tempo or hill sprint workouts
TerrainUrban streets, Sidewalks, Ben Franklin Bridge, Waterfront paths, Parks including Penn's Landing, Penn Treaty Park, FDR Park
Post-runGroup breakfast after Saturday runs at South Street Diner; social gatherings and occasional beverages after the Wednesday bridge run in nice weather

Your First Run

Show up to the right spot for the right day: Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6:15 AM and Saturday mornings at 8:00 AM, all at Front and South Streets; Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM at 6th and Race Streets for the bridge run. You do not need to register or pay anything before you arrive.

If you are worried about being slow, they say all abilities are included and the group genuinely spans a wide range, so there are people running at most paces. On Saturdays, stick around after the run and the group heads to South Street Diner for breakfast, which is an easy, low-pressure way to meet people when you are new.
