About This Club

Mikkeller Running Club Phoenix is a beer-run chapter, part of the international Mikkeller network, built around a short group run followed by time at the taproom. It's free to show up, no membership needed, and the whole point is the run into the happy hour rather than the run as a workout. This suits people who want a reason to get out on a weeknight more than people chasing a training plan.

  • Brewery-based runs
  • We run for beer motto
  • Part of international Mikkeller chapters
  • Post-run beers
  • Inclusive community
  • Global MRC network

Who It Suits

This is a good fit if you're a beginner, a social runner, or someone who likes the idea of beer as the finish line rather than a medal. It's not built for competitive racers chasing pace or distance, and there's no trail running here, it's all road and pavement. Early risers should also know this is an evening thing, not a morning club.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Runs are 3-5K on road and pavement, so no trail shoes needed. The pace is set as all paces welcome, no one left behind, and walkers are explicitly fine, so there's no pressure to keep up with a pack. Expect a group photo and a loop back to the start point before everyone heads into the taproom.

Your First Run

Get there by 6:30pm when the run starts, wearing running gear, at whichever location is on for that day, Chupacabra Taproom in Mesa on Mondays or Phoenix Beer Overlooking Lakeside in Scottsdale midweek. It's worth checking Meetup beforehand since details can shift week to week.

If you're worried about pace, the club states no one is left behind, and walk breaks are fine, so showing up alone and slower isn't something to stress over here. After the run everyone circles back to the same spot for happy hour, which runs to 9pm, so there's a built-in moment to actually meet people.
