About the Z Krewe's High Rollin' 0.5K
The route at this one is short enough that the whole thing is more of a stroll through a brewery parking lot than a race. There are stops along the way for drinks and snacks, a costume contest, and live music running through the morning. The cause behind it is a local food bank's summer meal program for kids.
Packet pickup and registration open the morning of the event at the brewery hosting the race. A first-aid station is on hand, stocked with the basics plus, apparently, chewing gum. Post-race, there is beer at the finish for adults and root beer for younger participants.
