About the YMCA Milkshake Mile

The Milkshake Mile is built around a timed mile in Harrisburg, with age group heats staggered through the morning. There is also an untimed walk and run option, plus a shorter half-mile distance aimed at younger kids and families. After the racing wraps up, milkshakes come out, courtesy of the PA Dairymen's Association, and milkshake relay competitions follow for anyone who wants to stick around.

Food trucks, local vendors, a DJ, and YMCA activity booths fill out the rest of the morning. The back-to-school theme runs through the whole event, with backpacks being given away alongside the usual post-race activity.
