About the Yellowstone Trail Races

All distances start and finish at the Rendezvous Ski Trails, a cross-country ski area just outside Yellowstone National Park. The course runs through Custer Gallatin National Forest on trails that gain real elevation, with the marathon covering the loop twice and the shorter distances doing it once. The Forest Service recommends carrying bear spray, which tells you something about how remote it feels out there.

Check-in opens race morning at the Rendezvous Ski Trails before a pre-race meeting where the race director walks everyone through course markings. Snacks and refreshments are at the finish line after you come in.
