About the Yellowstone Independence Day 5k 2027
The course runs through Sacajawea Park along the Yellowstone River, with trees on both sides and the river close enough to hear. The route is flat and follows the riverbank, so the scenery does most of the work. The race is chip timed, and the crowd tends to lean patriotic, with decorated strollers and festive gear in the mix.
Bib pickup is available the evening before the race and again at the park's north picnic shelter on race morning before the start. On-site registration is also possible at that same window. After finishing, there are water and light snacks, and a local spot sets up on-site selling acai berry bowls by the river.
