About the WVU Hospitals East Foundation Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5k

The course runs through Martinsburg's historic downtown streets, following the same route as the Apple Harvest Festival parade. From War Memorial Park, it winds out to King Street, then loops through the surrounding neighborhood before turning back. The streets are closed to traffic, and the whole thing starts and ends at the park.

Packet pickup is race-morning only, at the park where the race starts. After the finish, there are local apples and other food at the post-race gathering, along with an awards ceremony for overall and age group winners.

Common Questions About the WVU Hospitals East Foundation Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5k

Will I finish last at the WVU Hospitals East Foundation Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:47, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:04:24, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the WVU Hospitals East Foundation Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5k a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 232 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the WVU Hospitals East Foundation Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5k?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:38 while the median finisher took 31:47. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
