About the WSU Pumpkin Run 5k & 1k
The course runs through the Wichita State University campus, so you pass academic buildings and open green spaces as you go. The fall setting works well for a race called the Pumpkin Run. There is also a shorter kids' option, so families tend to show up together. Age group trophies go to the top finishers in each category.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Heskett Center, with another window on race morning at Shocker Hall. Both spots are on campus, so you are not hunting for a strip mall the night before.
