About the Wounded Warrior 5K Run

The course runs through NSA Hampton Roads, starting and finishing at POW/MIA Park. The setting is a military installation, which gives the route a distinct character, and the race benefits wounded warriors, so the crowd tends to reflect that mission. The terrain is typical of a base course, paved and straightforward.

Registration opens the morning of the race, so you do not need to sort things out ahead of time. After the run, there is a cookout and live entertainment at the finish area, along with an awards ceremony for age group winners.
