About the Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey

The course starts and finishes at the winery itself, running out across the abbey grounds and back. Underfoot it mixes paved sections with open cross-country terrain, so expect some uneven footing along the way. The Wet Mountains sit behind the property, and the route passes through the pastoral grounds surrounding the abbey.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at the winery, with race-morning pickup available as well. After you finish, there is wine at the end.

Common Questions About the Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey

Will I finish last at the Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:41, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:48:53, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey a good first 5K?

A field of 595 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Wine Run 5k at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey?

The 5K winner ran 18:29 while the median finisher took 39:41. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
